Tourism Fiji

The website was refreshed to inspire users in booking their dream holiday and experiencing the beauty and adventure of the Fiji islands to the fullest.

The Brief

Tourism Fiji promotes and facilitates tourism experiences and opportunities within the Fiji islands.

I was contracted by Havas Host to refine and finalise the design, tidy up the design files, and create a developer handover package. This package included a content guide, support notes detailing how complex components worked, a high-fidelity prototype, and ongoing support.

Developer handover kit

As the design underwent numerous changes and iterations, it resulted in a cluttered and disorganised file with broken and outdated components.

To address this, alongside implementing the latest amendments, I meticulously combed through the entire site. I focused on removing any outdated components, while also amending or creating new components to ensure consistency throughout the design. This process aimed to streamline the design file and facilitate easier updates for future amendments.

Additionally, I ensured that all colours and icons adhered to the brand guidelines and refined the type scale. All of these updates were included in the developer handover kit.

Content guide

A comprehensive content guide was created to provide clear instructions for users uploading content into the backend system of the website.

Each page was identified and labeled accordingly, with main sections highlighted. Under each heading, specific guidelines were provided, including maximum word counts, image/video dimensions, or automated content pull-in instructions, depending on the section.

Additionally, image input sizes for both portrait and landscape orientations were specified, ensuring consistency and optimal display across various areas of the site. This meticulous approach aimed to ensure that images would work seamlessly within all sizes and contexts throughout the website.

High fidelity prototype

As part of the developer handover package, a high fidelity prototype was included.

This served as a valuable tool for developers, illustrating the interconnectivity of each page and providing guidance on envisioned animations throughout the site. The prototype not only showcased the site's navigation flow but also provided insights into the intended user experience, ensuring a smoother development process.

Q&A

Q&A serves as a crucial aspect of the final phase, enabling us to meticulously review the staging site to ensure alignment with approved designs.

Using FigJam, I conducted a thorough review by taking screenshots of each page and adding annotated notes, along with arrows to highlight relevant sections.

Following this, I regrouped with the team to discuss the notes and collectively prioritise "easy wins" as well as top priority items. This iterative process continued until everyone was satisfied with the site.
