Realogy

The Brief

Realogy is a leading provider of real estate services in the US with an extensive portfolio of real estate brands and brokerages. Their services include relocation, lead generation, title, and settlement services.

I joined Gallagher Communication as a UI Designer to help design and develop the pages needed for the Real Life website.

The Real Life website is designed for employees of Realogy to help them live their best lives in and out of work. The website offers information on career development, benefits, discounts, and wellbeing, with content added and updated frequently. The site also includes onboarding to help new starters integrate into the company seamlessly.

Workflow

We worked using the agile methodology in a 2-week sprint format. At the beginning of each sprint, we would plan our next sprint. Using JIRA, we split the tasks into manageable pieces and added estimations. Previous sprint tasks that still need to be completed would also be carried over.

My role within each sprint consisted of refining new and existing pages to help establish hierarchy and page flow. I was also available to help answer any questions the developers had and reviewed their work to ensure the site reflected the designs.

I created a fully functioning prototype to present to the client during meetings to help them understand how each page worked together, with feedback and amends collated for each sprint.

At the end of the sprint, we would have a retrospective to reflect on the sprint to see what went well, things to carry on doing, and things we could improve on. We would continue to refine our sprints from the retros and build a team and product.

Home page

The Real Life website is designed with a mobile-first strategy. Focusing on mobile designs allowed me to create a better user experience and prioritise important messages.

A search block features within the header, which allows the user to find what they are looking for easily and quickly. Various blocks and articles for wellbeing are featured throughout the page, allowing users to discover and read the content.

Manager timeline

The timeline gives the manager a to-do list as the weeks progress with resources available to download. I wanted the timeline to be animated and the line to fill as the user scrolls down, which will help bring the site to life.

I created scenes to show the progress of the new joiners - on their first day, their desk would be minimal, but as the weeks go on, the scene starts to build with plants and books as they gradually settle in.

Community & Careers page

Each page has a unique colour scheme and pattern, which helps the user identify the page they are viewing.

The pattern flows throughout the site, highlighting key areas and a wavy grey background to help separate the content.

I designed each section as modules that can be readily changed, adapted, and moved around. Chunking out the content makes it easier for the user to scan and digest.
